Xylorhiza cognata (Mecca Woodyaster) is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. They are native to The Contiguous United States and North America. They have achenes. Flowers are visited by Desert Leaf-cutter Ant, Schinia jaegeri, and Eupompha elegans perpulchra.
