非經濟性魚種，較為罕見，僅供下雜魚利用及學術研究使用。

上頜長大於下頜長，體色呈深褐色；前鼻孔無皮瓣突出呈環狀開口，後鼻孔呈圓形有皮瓣環繞，前鼻孔有1個感覺孔及眼眶下有5個感覺孔，鰓蓋前下頜有2個感覺孔，眼眶上有3個感覺孔；鋤骨齒呈1-3排，總共9顆，前上頜骨篩骨複合齒呈1-4排，總共11顆；背鰭前脊椎骨數16，肛門前脊椎骨數32，總脊椎骨數201，尾鰭鰭條數15，胸鰭鰭條數19-21，肛門前側線孔數28。形質測量上，各部位與體全長TL的百分比：肛門前長度22.8％，尾長78.4％，軀幹長9.8％，鰓孔位體高6.3％，肛門位體高5.9％，背鰭前長15.5％，頭長13％，側線長85.1-86.3％；與頭長的百分比：上頜長46.5％，下頜長40.9％，眼窩間距15.6％，吻長26.9％，眼徑長10.5％，胸鰭長31.4％，鰓孔長7.9％。各部位與體全長比例：肛門前長度1比1.1，尾長1比1.3，軀幹長1比6.5，鰓孔位體高1比22.2，肛門位體高1比23，背鰭前長1比3.3，頭長1比8.2，側線長1比1.2；與頭長的比例：上頜長2.2，下頜長2.4，眼窩間距3，吻長1.7，眼徑長1.5，胸鰭長1，鰓孔長12.7。(陳鴻鳴、楊瑋庭)

屬底棲性魚種，棲息深度在200公尺以上，以甲殼類及軟體動物維生。生態習性不甚清楚。

Meadia roseni is an eel in the family Synaphobranchidae (cutthroat eels). It was described by Michael Hin-Kiu Mok, Chi-Ying Lee, and Hung-Jung Chan in 1991. It is a marine, deep water-dwelling eel which is known from Taiwan, in the northwestern Pacific Ocean. It is known to dwell at a depth of 1,020 metres (3,350 ft). Males can reach a maximum total length of 74.5 centimetres (29.3 in).

The species epithet refers to Donn Eric Rosen.
