Damburneya purpurea is a species of shrub in the family Lauraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Caatinga, Espirito Santo, Acre (Brazil), Bahia, Ceará, Amazônia, and Mata Atlântica. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 14 m.
