Description of Cryptodifflugia oviformis

Testate amoeba, shell colourless, circular or ovoid, and has a smooth surface. The shell wall is composed of two layers, a thin outer covering of organic material and a thick inner layer of amorphous calcium phosphate. The aperture is terminal, round and bordered by a small organic collar. Length of shell 14.5-26 microns, breadth of shell 8-17.6 microns, diameter of aperture 3-6.4 microns.
