Shrubs or lianes. Leaves alternate, entire. Flowers in supra-axillary fascicles. Flowers bisexual. Calyx present, 5-fid. Petals 5, valvate, free. Stamens 5; filaments flattened below. Ovary with an excentric style. Fruit with a persistent style, without a lateral appendage.
