Duvernoia asystasioides Lindau

asystasioides: esembling Asystasia, another genus in Acanthaceae.

Erect or somewhat scrambling shrubby herb or shrub, up to 3m tall, rarely taller. Leaves opposite, often of unequal size, ovate to elliptic, 5-17 cm long, glossy dark green, more or less sparsely pubescent, sometimes only on midrib and veins, ciliate towards the base; margin entire. Flowers in lax, 3-20-flowered axillary inflorescences. Corolla 10-23 mm long, white with pink to purple markings on the lower lip; upper lip often slightly hooded; lower lip 3-lobed, mid-lobe much larger than side lobes. Capsule 19-27 mm long, hairless.
