Diagnosis: last simple dorsal-fin ray ossified and smooth on hind margin; scale formula 4.5/27-28/3.5; 2.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic-fin base; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; 8 branched dorsal fin rays; two pairs of rather long barbels; anterior barbel not reaching to anterior margin of eye/not extending beyond centre of eye; posterior barbel extending beyond hind margin of eye; lateral line complete and slightly depressed below dorsal fin; maximum reported size 96 mm SL; no bands on sides; no black spot on dorsal fin (Ref. 2940, 81282). Description: medium-sized species; dorsal profile straight, slightly depressed on nape; snout pointed, mouth small and subinferior; D: III,8; A: III,5 (Ref. 2940, 81282).Coloration: back dark, belly light; bases of scales slightly darker; no spots on sides (Ref. 2940, 81282).

Enteromius bagbwensis

Enteromius bagbwensis is a species of freshwater benthopelagic ray-finned fish in the genus Enteromius it is endemic to the Bagbwe River in Sierra Leone.[2] The current maximum length is a 9.6 cm male. [3]

Description

This fish has 12 scales around caudal penducle, 8 branched dorsal fin rays, and two pairs of rather long barbels. The anterior barbel does not reach to the anterior margin of the eye. It has a posterior barbel extending beyond the hind margin of its eye. This fish also has a complete lateral line and slightly depressed below dorsal fin. [3]
