Alkanna orientalis is one of the rarest plants in Israel. Found only in one location in the higher Hermon, 2200m. It is rather funny because it is common in the Middle East (Turkey, Egypt-Sinai etc.).
Alkanna orientalis is a common perennial in the east Mediterranean and eastwards to the Caucasus. Here you can see it in its arid habitat in Mt Hermon 2200m. In the distance you can see the peak of Mt Hermon , more than 2800m.
