Much-branched shrub or small tree. Branchlets roughly hairy. Leaves oblong-ovate, oblong-obovate or broadly elliptic, 3.5-12 cm long, 3-veined from the base, roughly hairy with sunken veins above, stellate hairy below: margin finely toothed. Flowers yellow in few-flowered, axillary heads. Fruit shallowly 2-4 lobed or not lobed, 1.6 cm in diameter, covered in warty protuberances.
