Description: English: The Ogyris amaryllis is often seen on Mistletoe (Amyema preissii ) plants. The flash of blue on the upper wings is very brilliant and noticeable and goes to the edge. Ogyris idmo males have a much reduced blue patch, in size and brilliance on the upper side of the wings. This is a male butterfly due to the blue on the outside of the top wing. Females have red.
