Common names include "campion" (shared wi Silene) an "catchflee", the latter name based on the sticky stems.

The larva o this moch feeds on Lychnis species, as dae some ither Lepidoptera includin Cabbage Moch (recordit on L. chalcedonica), Grey Chi an case-bearers o the genus Coleophora includin C. albella (feeds exclusively on L. flos-cuculi) an C. leucapennella.
