Hypericum foliosum is a species of flowering plant in the St. John's wort family Hypericaceae, section Androsaemum.[2] It is endemic to the Azores.[1]

Distribution and habitat

Hypericum foliosum is present in all of the Azorean islands, and can be found in damp shaded places in the mountains from 200 to 900 m (660 to 2,950 ft) above sea level.[1]

Description

Hypericum foliosum is a shrub that grows to be 50–100 cm (20–39 in) tall. Its inflorescence is golden yellow and has 12-18 petals. It has 20-30 stamens grouped into several stamen fascicles.
