They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, and Australia. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by Yellowjacket Hover Fly, Lindenius columbianus, Brown-belted Bumblebee, and Distichona auriceps. Individuals can grow to 0.55 m.
