Sporobolus capillipes var. delicalulus Jones, Contr. West. Bot. 14: 10. 1912. (Type from Soldier Canyon, Sierra Madre, Chihuahua.)
Annual; differing from 5. Shepherdi in the smaller spikelets, about 1.5 mm. long, the shorter glumes, one half to two thirds as long as the lemma, and the glabrous or nearly glabrous lemma.
Type locality: San Diego Canyon, Sierra Madre, Chihuahua.
Distribution: "Lower temperate Life Zone"; known only from the two type localities cited. ote: This may be only a form of 5. Shepherdi as suggested by Jones. The panicles are described as "often a foot long."
