They are native to Minas Gerais, Paraná, Mata Atlântica, Espirito Santo, SãO Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Rio Grande Do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Uruguay. They have simple, broad leaves and berries. Flowers are visited by Small Carpenter Bees, Pseudapis, Patellapis, and sweat bees. Individuals can grow to 4.5 m.
