Leaf-blades linear to narrowly linear-oblong or narrowly linear-lanceolate, 4-16 cm. long, abruptly pointed or somewhat acuminate, undulate, paler green beneath than above, glabrous above, more or less persistently pubescent beneath, short-petioled ; cymes peduncled, the branches pubescent ; sepals lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 2.5-3 mm. long, sparingly pubescent, the glands fully one half the length of the sepal-body ; corolla white or purple, 13-17 mm. wide, the larger petals 6-8 mm. long ; drupes globose-ovoid, 8-10 mm. long, red.
Type locality: St. Martin, West Indies.
Distribution : Lesser Antilles.
