Leaves mainly ascending, 4.5-21 cm. long, the blades suborbicular to reniform, 2-6 cm. wide, shallowly lobed with the lobes usually broadly 3-toothed, deeply cordate at the base, glabrous or sparingly pubescent, shorter than the thinnish petioles; scapes 11-32 cm. tall, sparingly pubescent, bright-green, paniculately branched; cymules mainly reduced to bulblets along the slender peduncles, the terminal peduncles or the lateral ones terminating in a flower; sepals oblong to oblong-ovate, 2-3 mm. long, sometimes glandular-ciliolate, usually glabrous, reflexed ; petals white, 3-4 mm. long, or rarely longer; follicles 4.5-5.5 mm. long.
Type locality : Sitka.
Distribution • Alaska to Alberta, Montana and California.

Heterisia eastwoodiae Small, sp. nov
Ivcaves erect or ascending, 6-20 cm. long, the blades suborbicular, 2.5-8 cm. wide, deeply cordate at the base, shallowly several-many-lobed, commonly sparsely pubescent, shorter than the sparingly pubescent petioles; scapes 15-40 cm. tall, sparingly glandular -pubescent, pale-green, paniculately branched; cymules few-flowered, widely open, without bulblets ; sepals oblong-ovate, becoming 2,5-3 mm. long; petals white, 4-5 mm. long; follicles 6.5-7.5 mm. long.
Type collected on the South fork of Smith River, Del Norte County, California, May 1, 1905, by Miss Alice Eastwood.
Distribution : Washington to California.
