Leaves of the caudices 1.5-2 mm. long, densely imbricated, the blades obovate, often silvery-margined and conspicuously silvery-ciliate ; flower-stalks 0.5-1 cm. long, leafless; sepals ovate or semiorbicular, 1-1.5 mm. long, ciliate at the apex, reflexed ; petals wanting; filaments subulate ; follicles 2-2.5 mm. long, the style-beaks about 0.5 mm. long.
Type locality : Cape Newnham, northwestern North America.
