Nectandra hihua (Shinglewood) is a species of tree in the family Lauraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Neotropics, Amapá, Puerto Rico, Pantanal, U.S. Virgin Islands, Tocantins, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, GoiáS, Mato Grosso, Amazônia, Acre (Brazil), Distrito Federal, SãO Paulo, Cerrado, Bahia, Paraná, and Pará. They have simple, broad leaves.
