Snakefern

Microgramma is a genus of ferns in the family Polypodiaceae, subfamily Polypodioideae, according to the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I).^[2] They are commonly known as vine ferns or snakeferns.^[3][4]

As of February 2020, Checklist of Ferns and Lycophytes of the World accepted the following species:^[1]

Distribution

Species in the genus are native to tropical ecoregions in the Americas and Africa.^[3][5]

Regions and countries include: Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America (including Argentina and Brazil), tropical Africa, southern Africa, and western Indian Ocean islands.^[3][4][6][7]
