Perennials, 60–90+ cm. Aerial nodes proximal to first peduncle usually (5–)6–12+, distalmost 1–3 internodes 4–12 cm. Leaves: mostly cauline on proximal 1/2–2/3 of plant heights; petioles 0–35+ mm; blades usually simple, rarely with 1(–3+) lateral lobes, simple blades or terminal lobes oblong-elliptic or ovate to elliptic, 45–95+ × 22–35+ mm. Peduncles 12–25(–40) cm. Calyculi of lanceolate to lance-linear bractlets 6–9 mm. Phyllaries lance-ovate to lanceolate, 9–12 mm. Ray laminae yellow, 20–30+ mm. Disc corollas 3.4–4.4 mm, apices yellow. Cypselae 2.2–2.8 mm, wings ± spreading, ± chartaceous, entire. 2n = 26

Coreopsis intermedia, the goldenwave tickseed,[1] is a North American species of plants in the family Asteraceae. It is native to a small region in the south-central United States (eastern Texas, western Louisiana, southwestern Arkansas.[2]

Coreopsis intermedia is an annual or short-lived perennial up to 90 cm (3 feet) tall, with yellow flower heads containing both ray florets and disc florets.[3][4]
