Brissus latecarinatus is a species of sea urchins of the family Brissidae. Their armour is covered with spines. Brissus latecarinatus was first scientifically described in 1778 by Nathanael Gottfried Leske.[1]

Also distributed in Marshall Islands (Clark, 1954), Australia (Rowe & Gates, 1995), Lakshadweep (India) in Sastry (1991). General distribution: tropical, Indo-west-central Pacific Ocean, depth range 0-45 m. (Rowe & Gates, 1995); East coast of Africa to Hawaiian Islands (Sastry, 1991).
