Geranium crenatum

Geranium crenatum S. Wats. Proc. Am. Acad. 17 : 334. 1S82 Perennial, the caudex branched. Stems erect or nearly so, 1-4 dm. long, branched above, the pubescence below the inflorescence of short often rather close-set and long widely spreading hairs, glandless ; leaf-blades rounded in outline, 3.5-5 cm. wide, more or less hirsute on both sides, 3-5-lobed, the divisions bluntly incised or toothed, the terminal segments reniform or broadly ovate ; pedicels hirsute, with some short gland-tipped hairs mixed in with the long hairs ; sepals awn-tipped, the outer ones 10-12 mm. long, the bodies lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, long-hirsute and sometimes slightly glandular-pubescent ; petals bluish-purple or deep pink, 11-15 mm. long ; style-column 14-16 mm. long, hirsute ; carpel-bodies about 5 mm. long, sparingly hirsute.
Type locality : L,erios, Coahuila, Mexico. Distribution : Northeastern Mexico.
