Drymocallis viscosa Rydberg, sp. nov
Densely cespitose ; stems 3-4 dm. high, densely viscidvillous ; stipules ovate, usually coarsely toothed; basal leaves 1-1.5 dm. long, with 7-9 leaflets; petioles and rachis conspicuously viscid, the former 3-5 cm. long ; terminal leaflets 2-3 cm. long, broadly obovate or obovate-flabelliform, serrate with broadly ovate teeth, densely glandular-atomiferous, the lower leaflets rounded and usually very small ; stem-leaves 1-5-foliolate, at least the upper 1-3 leaflets ample ; cyme many-flowered and corymbiform ; hy pan thium viscidvillous in fruit, about 8 mm. broad; bractlets elliptic or ovate, 3^ mm. long; sepals broadly ovate, about 5 mm. long, in fruit 6-7 mm.; petals orbicular, 6-7 mm. long, brightyellow; stamens about 25 ; anthers cordate at the base; pistils numerous; styles fusiform.
Type collected in meadows, Mount Chapaca, Washington, in 1897, A. D. E. Elmer 564 (herb. N. Y. Bot. Gard.).
