I have no idea what this is. Looks like a fungus, but could be martians!

Indian Pipe. A parasitic flower found in woodlands with nutrient-rich soil. It's conspicuous lack of green color is due to the fact that this species does not produce chlorophyll, but instead takes "food" from other organisms (tree roots and/ or fungal mycelium underground). American Indian lore exists regarding these plants marking passed souls, hence it's alternate name; Ghost Plant.

Here it is in full bloom. It's starting to get the black spots that Patrick talked about on my other image. I came back to Flickr just in time to be upset about the new toolbar with their logo on top of all my images. Seriously, how do they think that's not an ad? I'm pretty sure that's a blatant breach of contract since I have an ad free account.
