Helichrysum rotundatum Harv.

coriaceum: leathery, thick-leaved

Perennial, up to 75 cm tall, growing from a woody rootstock. Stems simple with leaves mostly near the base. Leaves more or less elliptic, up to 27 × 2.5 cm, leathery, clasping at the base, nearly hairless when mature, covered in white silky hairs below, prominently 3-5-veined below. Capitula in corymbose clusters forming a large spreading head. Involucral bracts c. 6-seriate, up to 3.5 mm long, oblong, straw-coloured. Florets yellow.

Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe to Eastern Cape, South Africa.
