They are native to Mato Grosso Do Sul, ParaíBa, Roraima, Rio Grande Do Sul, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Amazônia, Bahia, Santa Catarina, Puerto Rico, Piauí, Pará, Pernambuco, Tocantins, SãO Paulo, Paraná, RondôNia, Acre (Brazil), Espirito Santo, Distrito Federal, Amapá, GoiáS, Ceará, Rio De Janeiro, and Maranhao. They have white flowers. Flowers are visited by Puerto Rican Spindalis, Puerto Rican tanager, Loxigilla portoricensis, and Bananaquit. Individuals can grow to 50 feet.
