Acridoidea is a superfamily of Orthoptera. There are 8131 species of Acridoidea, in 1694 genera and 11 families. This superfamily has been around since the pliensbachian age. It includes groups like Ommexechidae, Dericorythidae, and Pamphagodidae. Reproduction is oviparous. They are fast moving animals.
