Agaricus longistriatus Peck, Ann. Rep. N. Y. State Mus. 30: 40. 1878.
Pileus thin, convex or expanded, not umbonate, 2.5-4 cm. broad; surface dry, cinereous or whitish, striate to the disk, which is usually darker than the margin and minutely squamulose or hairy; lamellae broad, ventricose, white, becoming salmon-colored; spores globose, smooth, 5-7 fx; stipe equal, glabrous, white, about 5 cm. long and 2 mm. thick, sometimes reaching 4 mm.
Type locality: Albany, New York.
Habitat: On decaying wood.
Distribution: New York to Alabama and west to Ohio.
