Agaricus cristatellus Peck, Ann. Rep. N. Y. State Mus. 35: 163. 1884.
Pileus thin, convex, subumbonate, 4r~S mm. broad; surface minutely mealy, especially on the margin, white, the disk slightly tinged with pink, margin at times somewhat appendiculate ; lamellae free, rounded behind, crowded, white; spores subellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, 5 y. long; stipe slender, whitish, hollow, 2.5 cm. long, 1 mm. thick; annulus obsolete.
Type locality : Copake, New York,
Habitat: Mossy places in woods.
Distribution: New England to Michigan and south to Missouri.
