Aspidosperma domingense Urban, Symb. Ant. 5: 460. 1908
Shrub, 2-3 m. tall, wholly glabrous; leaves alternate, coriaceous, obovate to obovateoblong, 4—5.5 cm. long, 2-3 cm. broad, rounded to obscurely emarginate at the apex, very lustrous above, the secondary veins oblique, crowded, the petioles 4-6 mm. long; follicles oblongobovate, 6S cm. long, 1.5-2 cm. broad, essentially glabrous; seeds unknown.
Type locality: Near Santiago, Santo Domingo; alt. 300 m. Distribution: Hispaniola.
