Conservation status. With no sub-populations recorded from within the current protected areas network, and thus a predicted population reduction of> 80 % in the next three generations, L. delphinensis is assigned a preliminary status of Critically Endangered (CR). Along with L. raymondii , the status of L. delphinensis demonstrates the urgent need for additional protection of littoral forest along the East coast of Madagascar.
