Evergreen trees or shrubs. Latex white. Leaves opposite. Inflorescences cymose, congested, terminal and axillary. Sepals free, thick. Corolla lobes overlapping to the right. Anthers sagittate at the base. Disk present, 5-lobed. Fruit of 2 stiff woody follicles, fused at the base. Seed bearing long hairs.
