Shrubs or small trees. Leaves and branches lepidote. Inflorescences of terminal racemes or panicles or flowers solitary and axillary. Epicalyx of 3-5 bracts. Calyx cup-shaped, truncate. Ovary 5-locular; style not branched. Fruit indehiscent, woody or fleshy, (4-)5-lobed or not lobed.
