Diagnostic Description

Hind tibiae without apical spurs; basicosta with strong setae as dense as those on the adjoining costa; vestiges of ocelli present; third antennal segment with at most an acute dorsobasal angle; tibiae not inflated; frontoclypeus and genae not bare and shiny; frontal callus present; labella unsclerotized; eyes bare; legs with all tibiae at least one-third white basally; wings glass clear; abdomen with at least tergites 2 and 4 with white hair; antennae black, strongly excavated dorsally; second tergite with median and lateral white hair patches usually separated, sometimes narrowly joined (females) or entirely white haired (males); fourth tergite more than two-thirds white, the band widest in the middle and sides (females) or entirely white haired (males); basal flagellomere shorter than or equal to the length of the apical flagellomeres; frontal callus narrow, drop-shaped, brown or yellow; terminal abdominal segments not strongly constricted or arched dorsoventrally.
