Occurs in heavily forested areas with high rainfall up to 1800 mts.

Distribucion en Costa Rica:
Distribucion General: Panama to Bolivia.

Females feed on the blood of mammals, including humans.

Immature stages unknown.

Hind tibiae without apical spurs; basicosta with sparse strong setae less dense than on the adjoining costa; third antennal segment with at most an acute dorsobasal angle; tibiae not inflated; frontal callus present, usually narrower than the front; frontoclypeus and genae not inflated; labella unsclerotized; vestiges of ocelli present or a distinct tubercle at the vertex; mid and hind tibiae not prominently bicolored; wing with fork of veins R4 and R5 with a spur; wing with faint clouds on the fork of veins R4 and R5 and the distal end of the discal cell, cells r1 and r3 strongly brown tinted; abdomen largely black haired, at most with small median pale haired triangles; wing length usually less than 11 mm.

Stypommisa pequeniensis adolah sabuah spesies Tabanidae. Spesies ko juo marupokan bagian dari ordo Diptera, kelas Insecta, filum Arthropoda, dan kingdom Animalia.

Lalek kudo dewasa mahisok nektar dan kadang-kadang sarbuak sari. Betino dari kabanyakan spesies adolah anautojenik, nan artinyo butuah mahisok darah sabalun mampu untuak bareproduksi sacaro efektif. Telua dilatakkan di ateh batu atau vegetasi biasonyo balansuang dakek jo aia misalnyo kolam ranang.
