Diagnostic Description

Hind tibiae without apical spurs; basicosta with sparse strong setae not as dense as on the adjoining costa; third antennal segment with at most an acute dorsobasal angle; tibiae not inflated; frontal callus present, usually narrower than the frons; frontoclypeus and genae not inflated; labella unsclerotized; vestiges of ocelli present or a distinct tubercle present at the vertex; mid and hind tibiae not prominently bicolored; wings usually spotted or tinted; fork of veins R4 and R5 without a spur; legs brown, at least in part; mesoscutum at most weakly striped; abdomen without prominent bluish pruinosity, but with pale hind margins and large pale haired median triangles on all tergites.
