General.

The genus Mydaselpis comprises five valid species distributed in southern Africa (South Africa and Zimbabwe; Bezzi 1924 , Hesse 1969 , Bowden 1980 ) and representatives have not been reported from eastern Africa. The latest key to species was published by Hesse (1969: 22) .
