Dermatemys mawii (Central American River Turtle) is a species of turtles in the family river turtles. They are listed as critically endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Neotropics. They are nocturnal herbivores. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is oviparous.
