Ustilago Alsineae Clinton & Zundel, sp. nov
Sori in the ovaries, but apparently confined to the ovtiles, ovoid to ellipsoid and about 2 or 3 mm. in length, dehiscing peculiarly and disclosing dusty purple-black spore-masses in place of the seeds; spores dark-purple, often subopaque, subspheric to spheric, with obsciu-e very minute and shallow reticulations (about 1 m in diameter), showing at the margin as rather inconspicuous papillae, chiefly 10-14 /a in diameter. Type collected at Falk's Store, Idaho, April 22, 1911, on Alsine praecox (Stetlaria praecox) A. Nelson.
