Gyrosigma acuminatum is a species of diatoms in the family Pleurosigmataceae. They are native to Rio De Janeiro, Rio Grande Do Sul, Paraná, SãO Paulo, GoiáS, and Pernambuco. Dead Gyrosigma acuminatum form siliceous oozes.
