Plants small, yellowish green, growing in dense patches. Leafy stems simple, 1.8–3.0 mm long, 1.5–2.5 mm wide; axillary hyaline nodules well differentiated; central strand indistinctly differentiated. Leaves in 5–10 pairs, densely arranged, lowest leaves smallest, middle to upper leaves linear-lanceolate, 1.6–1.8 mm × 0.2–0.3 mm, narrowly acute at apex; base of dorsal laminae wedge-shaped; vaginant laminae ca. 3/5 the leaf length, nearly equal; costa stout, lightly yellowish brown, shortly excurrent; margins of apical and dorsal laminae almost entire; limbidia found on vaginant laminae of nearly all leaves, composed of one row of cells on the upper halves of the vaginant laminae, or 2–3 rows on the lower halves, but replaced at the extreme base by 5–6 rows of quadrate to shortly oblong, thin-walled cells; cells of apical and dorsal laminae quadrate to irregularly hexagonal, 3.5–10.5 µm long, thin-walled, obscure, pluripapillose; cells of vaginant laminae similar to those of apical and dorsal laminae, but larger and thick-walled, fewer and larger papillae toward the extreme base near costa.
