The five banded gliding lizard, Draco quinquefasciatus, is found in lowland rainforests from southern Thaliand and Malaysia to Sumatra and Borneo, and in Singapore.It is one of about 40 species in its genus, all lizards that glide using a membrane supported by elongated thoracic ribs (the patagium).A medium sized lizard, it reaches a total length of about 27 cm (10.6 inches).As suggested by its common name, D. quinquefasciatus has five dark bands, dotted with white spots, across its back and the dorsal side of its patagium. Both males and females have a long gular flag, in males it is bright yellow, in females green with yellow spots.
