Occurs in clear lagoon and seaward reefs, Ref. 48637. Found with sponges at various depths (Ref. 48637). Prefers sheltered areas in the form of holes in dead and living corals. Solitary or paired. 體卵圓形,側扁而高,眼後枕骨區突出,尾柄短而高。體側下緣平坦,無縱行皮褶,腹部中央自口部下方至肛門前方則有一稜褶。吻較長而尖;鼻孔單一,不甚明顯。背鰭近似圓刀形,位於體後部,具軟條11-12;臀鰭與其同形,具軟條10-11;無腹鰭;胸鰭寬短,上方鰭條較長,近呈方形,下方後緣稍圓形;尾鰭寬大,呈圓弧形。體紅褐色,具有許多大小不一之白色圓斑,腹部與頰部白斑有時會延長呈帶狀;從口至頰部具由小點構成之許多藍紋;背鰭基有由藍帶圍成之類似眼狀斑;眼四周有放射狀的藍線。各鰭白色,尾鰭不具明顯之斑點。

Morfologia

  • Els mascles poden assolir 9 cm de longitud total.

Canthigaster janthinoptera is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van kogelvissen (Tetraodontidae).[1] De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1855 door Bleeker.

白斑尖鼻魨学名Canthigaster janthinoptera),又名圓斑扁背魨白紋河魨尖嘴規規仔,为輻鰭魚綱魨形目四齒魨亞目四齒魨科扁背魨屬下的一个种,為熱帶海水魚,分布於印度太平洋區,從東非南非川斯凱馬克薩斯群島,北起日本南部,南迄豪勳爵島海域,棲息深度1-30公尺,體長可達9公分,棲息在有遮蔽的珊瑚礁潟湖,單獨或成對活動,以海綿藻類多毛類等為食,可作為觀賞魚。

Occurs in clear lagoon and seaward reefs. Prefers sheltered areas in the form of holes in dead and living corals. Solitary or paired. Feeds on sponges, polychaetes, filamentous algae and on smaller quantities of tunicates, crustaceans, echinoderms and corals.
