Veratrum viride (False Hellebore) is a species of perennial herb in the family Melanthiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to North America, Western North America, Canada, Alaska, and The Contiguous United States. They have compound leaves and loculicidal capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Mallota bautias.
