Limnobium laevigatum (West Indian Spongeplant) is a species of perennial herb in the family Hydrocharitaceae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Caatinga, Pampa, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Amazônia, Paraná, Pará, Pernambuco, Rio Grande Do Sul, Maranhao, Puerto Rico, Piauí, Pantanal, Cerrado, Rio De Janeiro, and Bahia.
