Lemmon's Canarygrass

Phalaris lemmonii is a California endemic with chief occurrences in Sacramento, Butte, Yolo, Solano, Merced, Riverside and San Diego Counties. The species typically occurs in moist places including seasonally wet locales such as vernal pools.

Also known as Lemmon's canarygrass, this annual species characteristically grows in terrestrial tufts, and does not occur aquatically. The inflorescence presents as a dense slender spike-like panicle or raceme.

Phalaris lemmonii is an uncommon species of grass known by the common name Lemmon's canarygrass. It is endemic to California, where it can be found in coastal and inland mountain ranges and the Central Valley.
