They are native to Cerrado, Sergipe, Bahia, Mata Atlântica, Ceará, Minas Gerais, U.S. Virgin Islands, Espirito Santo, GoiáS, Caatinga, Rio Grande Do Norte, ParaíBa, Alagoas, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Pernambuco, and Puerto Rico. They have simple, broad leaves.
