A family group of five korhaans flushed from a mix of dry grass- and karoo veld flies away, uttering their raucous knock-me-down, knock-me-down calls. The wing beats are audible from the start of the recording until about 0:07. The group lands about 100 metres away, still calling. Soon afterwards, a neighbouring territorial group of four Blue Korhaans starts calling while walking quickly towards the birds that have just landed. The ensuing vocal interactions continues, with the two groups eventually only metres apart, until 2:33, when the groups stop calling, move away slightly from each other and continue with their normal activities. Distant calls of other groups of Blue Korhaans can be heard until the end of the recording. The recording was modified slightly, using high pass filtering only.

The male was seen standing near the top of a hill in the early morning and displaying. Each time he shook his white throat feathers which he was displaying, he would make a 'bloop' sound. The video of this can be seen on Youtube at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRAcajBpDV8
The 'bloop' sound is barely audible and can be heard at these intervals: 0:03; 0:21; 0:39; 0:57; 1:13; 1:28; and 1:45 seconds.
