Diagnosis: eyes with free orbital rim; dorsal and anal fins long (69% and 55% SL, respectively) and partially fused to the caudal fin; skull short but broad, being almost as broad as long (skull width 90% skull length); external mandibular barbel of equal length as skull (Ref. 81644).Description: known only from the holotype; slender and markedly elongate body (abdominal depth 8% SL); pectoral spine about half pectoral fin length and slightly serrate along posterior margin; barbels long, maxillary barbel longer than skull (about 130% of skull length), external mandibular barbel of equal length as skull; other barbels shorter than skull; premaxillary tooth plate about 4 times longer than wide; orbits surrounded by free margin (Ref. 81644).Coloration: body pinkish brown, pale ventrally; fins brown; lower half of caudal fin darker than upper half (Ref. 81644). Preserved specimen: greyish brown, slightly paler ventrally and in tail region; fins pale brown (Ref. 81644).
